This body of work arose out of my struggle to make a weaving assignment compelling. Rather than work with traditional weaving materials, I decided to work with balloons tied to wire armatures to make sculptural vessels intended to challenge our traditional notions about balloons. My intention is to challenge our conventional notions about the use of balloons by constructing permanent sculptures worthy of reverence.
